This is a layer 5 cell from a P19 rat. It was recorded in TTX with CsF
electrodes, I don't have Rin, etc with me now but I can send it to
you. The recording site is actually in the proximal apical dendrite
just above the soma (you can see the pull-off in the orig sections, I
can fax you a printout with the recording site indicated if you need
it). This hasn't been corrected for shrinkage, as I'm not sure what
it is. You can probably assume 10% in X,Y,Z and diameter if you want
to. It's been mildly corrected for the usual z-dimension squishing one
seems to get with these things. The only other weird thing about it is
that the apical dendrite narrows a bit halfway up and then gets wider
again, I suspect it's just sort of cylindrical there and turned so
that I see the narrower face of the cylinder, but I had to call it as
I saw it. The tips of the right side of the apical tuft were chopped
in the slicing, the left side is pulled around somewhat as there was a
tear in the slice, it got pulled over that way and then mounted. There
is a mid-sized chunk of the axon in the reconstruction (the tree named
"axon"). It ends in kind of a lump, it was cut off in the slicing as
it went towards the white matter, I think axonal transport built up
stuff in the end. It looks pretty weird in real life, but I had my
friend the growth-cone afficianado look at it for me and it isn't
anything like that. If you want a clever name to use for it, (e.g.
"j4") it's official title is 57.7 (cell 7 of experiment 57). Real
catchy, eh? ;-). Usually when I divide it up as per my usual (20 um
segments) I get ~800, which makes it take a long time to simulate.
But you can probably chunk it up bigger than that.
