Model Concept: Binocular energy model/Stereopsis

The binocular energy model is a linear/nonlinear model for modelling disparity selectivity. In its original form, it computes the sum of two linear receptive fields, one from each eye, then applies a squaring output nonlinearity (the "energy" computation). Stereopsis is the nervous systems computations of distances to objects or surfaces as generated from the perceptions of two eyes.
