This is a circuit model of stellate/basket cells in the molecular layer of cerebellar cortex. The neurons have an active soma and passive 21-compartment dendrite. They are coupled electrically and via GABAA receptor synapses. We show that such an inhibitory circuit can produce slow response components (integration times up to 1.5 seconds), as predicted in a classical paper by Cannon, Robinson and Shamma (Biological Cybernetics 1983).
