One compartment model of VTA-cNAcc projecting DA neuron with a focus on replicating in vitro results of responses to rebound from hyper polarizing step of both control and knockdown of KChIP4A auxiliary subunit. Model used to predict in vivo responses under balanced state, synaptically driven inputs.
Experimental motivation: In vitro recordings of identified DA neurons, behavioral results showing accelerated extinction learning.
Model Type: Neuron or other electrically excitable cell
Region(s) or Organism(s): Basal ganglia
Cell Type(s): Ventral tegmental area dopamine neuron
Currents: I A; I A, slow; I K; I K,Ca; I L high threshold; I N; I Na, slow inactivation
Genes: Kv4.3 KCND3
Model Concept(s): Negative feedback; Stimulus selectivity; Synaptic Integration
Simulation Environment: NEURON; Python
Implementer(s): Knowlton, Christopher [cknow1 at lsuhsc.edu]
